Favorite Holiday Cookie

These are either magic cookie bars or 7 layer bar cookies yummy no matter what you call them.  My favorite Christmas cookie they taste like a candy bar to me.  You could swap out layers for different flavors.  I'm thinking swapping out the butterscotch chips for carmel and the graham crackers for pretzels would be good.

Preheat oven to 350˚(325˚ for glass dish)
In 13 X 9 X 2 baking pan melt 1/2 cup butter in oven
Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs over butter
mix together and press into pan
 on top sprinkle
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup flake coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
pour 1 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk evenly over all
bake 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned
cool thoroughly before cutting

Unfortunately I made these way to early before Christmas only about half the batch made it to the freezer.  I will probably have to make them again or there will not be enough to go around.

  3. I love your 7-layer cookies, both because they are delicious and they make for good interest and levels on cookie trays.

  4. No butterscotch chips at Whole Foods or Safeway. :( I tried caramel instead, I'll let you know how they turn out.
