Anthropologie Inspired Christmas Ornaments

I was in Anthropologie this weekend and they were selling Christmas ornaments that were just balls covered in pretty lingerie elastics.  I have a box of pretty elastics and I made a stop at the craft store for some styrofoam balls.

For each ornament I cut about 18 pieces of elastic all about 12" long.  I tied a knot in each one to make rubber bands leaving about a 1'' tail on the knots.  After I had all of my rubber bands made up I wrapped them around the 3" ball till covered, placing all the knots at the top and bottom of ball.  I cut the tails off the top knots and left the bottom ones long.  Using a straight pin I attached one elastic band to the top
for hanging.

Ready to hang on the Christmas tree that we haven't gotten around to buying.

  2. I saw them in the store, but wasn't sure what was going on with them (i.e. lingerie elastics). Your version is just as cute.

  3. Maybe skip the tree and keep hanging garland and ornaments all over the house. Makes the entire house Christmasy and out of reach for some.
